Kenya Red Cross Receives Ksh. 25M Donation from Airtel Kenya to Curb Floods

On Wednesday,May 15,2024, Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) received a boost of Ksh. 25 million from Airtel Kenya in order to curb the ongoing flooding in the country.

Speaking after the donation process at the Kenya Red Cross Headquarters in South C-Nairobi,Airtel Kenya CEO-Ashish Malhotra and Airtel Money Kenya-MD, Anne Kinuthia Otieno stated that the supportive ideology will continue between the two organizations for long lasting solutions.

In a statement,the Kenya Red Cross Society-Secretary General-Idris Ahmed on the other hand appreciated Airtel Kenya for strong effort towards flooding solutions across Kenyan counties.

On Sunday,April 21,morning hours East African Time,a military plane carrying the body of the late Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General-Francis Ogolla landed at the Kisumu International Airport ready for the burial at his rural home in Ng’iya,Siaya County.

The final journey (burial ceremony) of CDF General-Francis Ogolla showcased simple and colourful send-off at the Obama K’ogello Primary school.

After the send-off religious mass, a procession will lead the General’s body to Mor Village, where he will be laid to rest.

KDF Helicopter Crashes in Elgeyo Marakwet Carrying Security Officials

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Helicopter Carrying Chief of Defence-Francis Ogola and other security officials on Thursday,April 18 at around 2:20 pm East African Time crashed and bursts into flames in Elgeyo Marakwet leaving Five people dead and others seriously injured.

The incident happened at Kaben area-Endo ward in Elgeyo Marakwet went down and burst into flames shortly after taking off from Cheptulel Boys Secondary school.

Earlier,reports gathered by NTV Kenya indicated that the authorities have confirmed the loss of Five officers on spot, while other three sustained serious injuries.
